A little more about Akany Avoko / Plus sur Akany Avoko

Akany Avoko has set up as a refuge for young girls, who would otherwise be in prison awaiting trial to prove their innocence against allegations of petty crime.Their door has always been open and now, more than 40 years on, they offer shelter, care and the opportunity to develop new skills and knowledge to all of those in need.

Their aim is for self-sufficiency. They use alternative technologies and are discovering sustainable ways to beat the poverty that is threatening to destroy our unique environment and culture.
